- FODM_Overview
-- A general overview of the FODM structures. This
document is designed for growers and software development
managers. It discusses FODM at a 30,000 foot level
so that an individual can understand the goals/architecture
of the system w/in delving into implementation syntax.
- FODM
Abstract -- An abstract specification of the
FODM structures (new document). This document is
designed for technical people that want to explore
whether FODM can work for their application.

Operation
Region Subsystem Schema: (Revised Mar 26, 2001)
This document describes a simple schema for summarizing
the information described within an Operation Region
of the FODM™. The Operation Region is very complex,
but is is possible to summarize some of the information
within a database subsystem. This makes it possible
to use conventional queries and report generation
software to track people, equipment, and products
without a need to decompose the complex FODM™ representation.
The subsystem has been spec'd using Microsoft
Access. You can download a copy of the Access
database or a more detailed
description of the database.
-
Technical
Documentation: (Revised Oct 23, 2002) Technical
documentation (.chm Help file) for FODM™ developers.
FODM is available for a no-cost license and royalty
free distribution by any company.

Implementing
a DSO: (Feb 27, 2001) The MapShots spatial components
acquire their data through a standard XML and COM
based interface that we call a DataSource Object.
This paper describes what is necessary to implement
a DSO so that the MapShots spatial components can
work with any proprietary data source.
-
MapShots
- General Architecture: (Nov 12, 2000) This
paper describes the general COM and XML architecture
of the MapShots applications. It describes the integration
of EASi Map into EASi Crops, however, this identical
architecture was also used to provide the same type
of integration to Deere's JDLabis application in
Germany and the Pioneer Hi-Bred Field Information
Manager application. The Field Operations Documentation
section of this paper was created prior to the preparation
of our broader FODM™ implememtation, and it should
be replaced by the more current FODM
Proposal.
-
Web-Enabled
Architecture: (June 19, 2002) This paper describes
how using the DSO enables a desktop software application
to migrate into a dedicated web-based application,
or even into a more powerful web-synchronized application
that can work while connected to the web, or off-line
from the web.
