Conservation Security Program

Go back to EASi Suite page.

The NRCS Conservation Security Program is a fantastic opportunity for EASi Suite users. We have been working with several EASi Suite users to assist them with the CSP sign up process. Our intention for this page of our web site is to provide links to information you may find helpful as you consider signing up for the NRCS CSP program.

NRCS Links

Compare the completeness of your own pesticide records with this document.

  • Soil Conditioning Index (SCI)

Many of the CSP enhancement programs utilize the Soil Conditioning Index. Learn how it is determined and what your opportunities are to improve it.

  • Soil Tillage Intensity Rating (STIR)

There are several CSP enhancement programs that will help you reduce your STIR.

Helpful Tips

One of the frustrating parts of the CSP sign-up process is there are differing interpretations of what is required for meeting the historical crop record keeping requirement. Below we provide a list of items that customers have told us they were required to have as a part of their historical crop records when signing up for the CSP program.

This list should not be considered an official list, nor complete. But, it can be used to asses the completeness of your own crop records. It will also be valuable for those of you who are not currently eligible, but will be able sign up in future years. You need to be recording a compete set of crop records now.

  • Application records must indicate application method; i.e. banded, broadcast, injected, etc. To accomplish this in EASi Suite, add application method as a user property to your application tasks.
  • Application records must indicate soil conditions at time of application; dry, moist, etc. To accomplish this in EASi Suite, add soil condition as a user property to your application tasks.
  • Pesticide records must indicate target pest and growth stage of crop at time of application. To accomplish this in EASi Suite, make sure you add the pest properties to the appropriate tasks.
  • Pesticide records must indicate the name of the applicator and their pesticide applicators license number. To accomplish this in EASi Suite, make sure you have added the license number to the properties of all people who have the role of applicator.
  • Historical soil test data must include the unique soil test lab id for each sample. The next release of EASi Suite will provide for this.
  • The method used to generate nutrient application recommendations must be clearly documented. In almost all cases, nutrient applications must be determined using your Land Grant University recommendations. EASi Suite integrates with the Purdue University Manure Management Planner software application to ensure your fertilzer recommendations are generated using the appropriate algorithm for your state.
